Blog App

Sims can create a Blog from the Blog App and post to it whenever they like by selecting their smartphone. You can use a pre-written title or create one for them. After certain events, your Sim will get a moodlet entitled Gotta Blog About and, if you click on the Sim directly, a matching Blog About interaction will be present. Successful posts gain followers and less popular ones lose them. Therefore, Sims shouldn’t be posting constantly and should pay attention to any negative moodlets about their phone usage.

Blog themes

Depending on which of the three themes your Sim’s app is, various events will trigger the Gotta Blog About moodlet. Posting those kinds of blog posts will result in a significant increase to their following which will enhance the star rating and the value of the blog.

The maximum number of followers a Sim’s blog can have is also impacted by their writing skill and their traits. Computer Whiz Sims receive a boost to any blog theme. Irresistible, Charismatic, Flirty, Friendly, Hopeless Romantic, and Party Animal Sims will notice a boost on their Personal Blogs. Artistic, Easily Impressed, Avant Garde, Perfectionist, Schmoozer, and Frugal Sims will see Reviewer Blogs benefit. Bookworm, Brave, Daredevil, Genius, Lucky and Ambitious Sims will have a positive impact on News Blogs.

Alternatively, Couch Potatoes will see their News and Reviewer Blogs suffer, Slobs will also have a negative impact on their Reviewer Blogs. Loners and Mean Spirited Sims won’t have much success with a Personal Blog.

Blog Ratings

Blogs are rated from 0 to 5 Stars, and each rating has its own benefits. Sims with a 1 Star Blog can ask their followers for donations and, if they are a student, help with their academics. 2 Star Blogs have an increased crowd at protests, are able to upload resumes from their phone when job hunting and will receive an extra job offer. 3 Star Blog owners have increased influence with Nerds, Jocks, and Rebels. 5 Star Blogs get frequent offers to sell their Blog for thousands of simoleons.
