Toddlers who play with the Rip Co. Xylophone will start with a boost to this skill when they grow up. Teenage and older Sims can build the Bass Skill simply by playing the instrument as much as possible. Once they reach level 5 they can head out into the community and Play for Tips which will earn them some extra cash.

Skill Challenges

Master Bassist: Master Bassists learn to play every song awarded to them and available to purchase at the store. After learning so many songs, they receive a Master Track!

Bass Star: Bass Stars must play at 10 Parties and Venues in town to earn their title. Afterwards, they earn larger monetary rewards for tips and performances!

Money Maker: Earn $25,000 playing the bass to earn a new Master Track to perform.

Cross-Pack Compatibility with The Sims 3 Expansion Packs

Bassists can team up with other musicians in The Sims 3 Late Night to form a Band with the addition of other instruments with guitar from the base game; drums and piano. In The Sims 3 Generations, teenage Sims looking to build this skill can also attend Music Club on Monday and Wednesdays after school. Be careful that part time jobs will clash with this so pick their extra-curricular activities carefully. Sims attending University can pursue a degree in Fine Art which will rely on and make use of the Bass Skill. Musical Sims might also be interested in learning to play the Laser Rhythm-a-con from The Sims 3 Into the Future.
